Woke up,
sweating and shaking;
a nightmare:
The announcement had said
the bespectacled one is the winner.
The former financier,
the chubby faced one,
thrown into prison.
On 'treason' charges.
The crowds chanting,
Makoni! Makoni!
The one with the straw hat,
leading a mob of 'war vets'
A smaller crowd chanting,
Tsvangson! Tsvangson!
The rat tat tat
Of army rifles.
The street strewn with bodies.
Across the seas.
Bush gets into the cockpit of a bomber.
